  1. I love that you posted this. Aparently seeing the wrong impression of a people on the big screen, makes money which is really all americans care about right?

  2. I don't quite see what you mean. The impression we 'Americans' get from Hollywood is the same thing that is emoted from the people I know. Half the movies put out are inspiring ones about African americans overcoming some sort of oppression even down to a swim team. What do you mean by Americans stereotyping? Just wondering

  3. The video posted above is about Africans, not African-Americans. I like the video because I have been to Africa and didn't see all of them with guns, only some and the people I saw helping them were not all white. Now as far as movies which are inspiring...yes there are some, none of which document what it is actually like to be an African-American in this country. While there are plenty of quality African-Americans, there are far more who are not quality. I don't see any movies with young black men in them with their pants hanging off their asses, with dreads and gold teeth and anger management issues. I don't see any documentaries on what is going on in "the hood", with the exception of The First 48. The First 48 is the reality of this new generation. They don't go to the movies to see Tyler Perry or about a swim team, because it is unbelievable to them. Their way out is their photo on a T-shirt with the letters R.I.P underneath. There is hope for African men, but much is lost for the African-American young black man and they definitely don't feel any white men will help them. This is what I mean.
